Analysts from Shangpu Consulting point out that according to relevant data, global demand for packaging machinery is expected to grow at an annual rate of 5.3%. As China accelerates the development of packaging technology, steering it towards a more economical, efficient, and multi-functional direction, the requirements for bag-making machines have also become more demanding. As an important member of the packaging machinery industry, bag-making machines have developed rapidly in China.

However, there is still a considerable gap between China's bag-making machines and those of advanced foreign countries. With growing demand, China still needs to import large quantities of bag-making machines from Japan and other countries. Looking at the competition among the most advanced fully automatic medium-seal bag-making machines both domestically and internationally, the core competition is primarily about equipment work efficiency—that is, the competition for high speed and high efficiency. However, due to China's technological limitations, many performance indicators still lag behind. In addition, the unreasonable industrial structure of China's bag-making machine industry, with industrial concentration in labor-intensive products while technology-intensive products are notably lagging behind those of developed industrial nations, the gradual weakening of the decisive role of production factors, high industrial energy consumption, low output rate, severe environmental pollution, and increasing damage to natural resources are also factors restricting the healthy and sustainable development of the industry.

In future development, Chinese bag-making machine manufacturers should strive to overcome technical bottlenecks. The overall machine operating speed is the performance indicator with the widest gap between China and foreign countries. There is not much room for improvement in work efficiency by simply increasing the equipment's operating speed, as the most advanced equipment has plateaued at 12,000 packs per hour, which has become a performance bottleneck. Instead, improvement should be achieved through modifications such as changing the single-row bag-making configuration to further enhance the equipment's work efficiency, enabling the equipment to operate at higher speeds, with higher efficiency, and with comprehensive automation, while achieving industrialized production and widespread application.

According to the "2014-2017 China Composite Bag-Making Machine Market Analysis and Investment Value Research Report" released by Shangpu Consulting, China's bag-making machine market is enormous with broad development prospects. Domestic bag-making machines now have relatively stable performance and continuously improving automation levels. At the same time, they also face limitations in overall machine operating speed. For manufacturers, how to improve machine efficiency and effectiveness is a practical challenge that lies before them.
